Insulating:


Your tent

-tent cozy (extra layer of fabric on outside or inside of tent)
-ground cloth under tent, space blanket on floor of tent
-layer of straw on tent floor

Your bed

-keep it off the ground
-curtain it off
-use a feather bed, wool blankets, sheepskins
-instant hot packets, warm bricks wrapped in flannel, hot water bottle

Yourself

-wear wool
-wear a cloak in bed
-extra layers (sweatpants, long underwear underneath)
-keep your head covered (even when sleeping, wear a nightcap)
-keep your feet covered
-always wear warm pajamas
-dry socks


Other tips:

-chamberpot with TP in tent
-have hot water ready for mixing hot cocoa or cider especially at night
-sleep with a friend or spouse!
